Definition

Percentage of credit users who are current on all credit obligations for each of the past four quarters, Quarter 4, 2014. Credit users are defined as adults over the age of 18 with a credit file and a credit score with Equifax.

Description

Payment history is a key indicator of a person’s creditworthiness, and missing or being late on a debt payment can negatively impact a consumer’s credit score. Payment history information typically accounts for nearly 35% of a credit score, making it one of the single most important factors in calculating scores. This indicator measures the percentage of credit users that have good payment histories (i.e., remained current on all of their debt obligations over the past year).
